Ballinfoile Castlegar Community Walk Group - starts 26th May 2022
A new community walking group is starting Thursday 26th May in the Ballinfoile Castlegar area. Community Walking Leaders Aisling (Healthy Galway City) and Vernice (Galway City Partnership, Ballinfoile) will support participants as they enjoy a selection of local routes in the area.
The group is free and suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. All routes are accessible and suitable for wheelchair users or buggies.
Walking is a great form of exercise, particularly for those who are currently inactive or have low levels of fitness. Walking has proven benefits for physical health including heart health, joint mobility, bone strength, muscles, weight management and energy levels. It is also a great way to reduce stress, improve mood and spend time with friends and family.
The community walking group will meet Thursdays at 9:30 am and run for 6 weeks. No special equipment is required, comfortable weather appropriate clothing and footwear is recommended. If you would like more information or you would like to join the group, please contact Aisling on 085 8217547 or Vernice on 086 8392621
